Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about TradeAI News.

What is TradeAI News?

TradeAI News is a real-time market intelligence platform for active traders. It monitors 26+ financial data sources — including SEC filings, options flow, dark pool activity, earnings data, and social sentiment — and uses a 6-layer AI scoring engine to detect and rank market-moving events. Each signal is scored 0–100 using our Top Mover Score (TMS), classified by catalyst type, and delivered in under 2 minutes via the dashboard, Telegram, or REST API. It is not a news aggregator — it is a precision signal engine designed to give retail traders the same speed and context that institutional desks have.

How does the AI signal detection work?

When a potential market event is detected — such as a large options block, a surprise SEC filing, or unusual volume — it enters our 6-layer AI scoring pipeline. Each layer evaluates a different dimension: NLP sentiment analysis, options flow data, dark pool activity, momentum velocity, sector context, and historical pattern matching. The outputs are fused into a single Top Mover Score (TMS) from 0 to 100. Signals above 82 trigger a SEND NOW alert, 68–81 get SEND PREMIUM, and lower scores are logged for research. The full pipeline runs in under 2 minutes from detection to delivery.

What is the TMS score?

TMS stands for Top Mover Score. It is a proprietary 0–100 composite score that measures how likely a detected event is to cause significant price movement. It combines six AI scoring layers: news sentiment strength, options flow intensity, dark pool footprint, intraday momentum velocity, sector correlation, and historical signal pattern matching. A score above 82 indicates a high-conviction signal (SEND NOW), 68–81 is elevated (SEND PREMIUM), 50–67 is moderate (WATCH), and below 50 is for monitoring only. Historical data shows SEND NOW signals have a significantly higher rate of short-term price movement.

Is TradeAI News financial advice?

No. TradeAI News is an informational platform that provides AI-scored market intelligence. Nothing on the platform — signals, TMS scores, catalyst classifications, or commentary — constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. All trading decisions are yours alone. Trading involves significant risk, including the possible loss of your entire investment. Past signal performance does not guarantee future results. We strongly recommend consulting a licensed financial advisor before making any investment decisions.

What markets does TradeAI News cover?

TradeAI News focuses on US equity markets — stocks listed on NYSE, NASDAQ, and AMEX. Coverage includes all market-cap ranges: large-cap, mid-cap, small-cap, and micro-cap, as well as premarket and aftermarket sessions. Our data sources include SEC EDGAR, options market data for 1,000+ tickers, dark pool prints from alternative trading systems, and real-time news from 26+ financial sources. We do not currently cover crypto, forex, futures, or international equities, though expansion to additional asset classes is planned.

How fast are the alerts?

From event detection to alert delivery, the full pipeline — AI scoring, catalyst classification, and delivery — runs in under 2 minutes. For the highest-conviction signals (TMS ≥ 82), we prioritize immediate delivery. Telegram alerts arrive first, typically within 60–90 seconds. Dashboard signals appear in real time. API consumers can poll /v1/signals/recent for near-real-time access. Speed is a core design principle — alerts arrive before the price move is widely visible on standard financial platforms.

What is included in the free plan?

The Free plan gives you access to the basic news feed with a 15-minute delay on signals, the financial calendar, a watchlist of up to 5 tickers, and limited dashboard access. You will not receive real-time signal alerts, Telegram notifications, or access to options flow, dark pool, or scanner data. The Free plan is designed to give you a genuine preview of the platform before committing to a paid plan. No credit card is required to sign up.

What is included in the Basic plan ($29/mo)?

The Basic plan includes full real-time access to the signal feed (all 4 tiers), Telegram alerts for all signal tiers, email alerts for up to 3 configured tickers, the financial calendar, a watchlist of up to 20 tickers, and full dashboard access. Options Flow scanner, Dark Pool tracker, and REST API are not included. It is the best starting point for active traders who want real-time alerts without advanced scanner tools.

What is included in the Pro plan ($79/mo)?

The Pro plan includes everything in Basic, plus the Options Flow Scanner (real-time tracking of unusual options activity and IV spikes), the Dark Pool Tracker (block trades and institutional prints), and priority Telegram delivery. You can configure email alerts for up to 10 tickers. The Pro plan also unlocks the Scanner section: momentum candidates, sector heatmaps, and market analysis. REST API access is not included. Designed for traders who want the full picture — news, options, and dark pool signals in one place.

What is included in the Elite plan ($149/mo)?

Elite includes everything in Pro, plus full REST API access with up to 3 API keys (60 req/min), email alerts for up to 25 tickers, and priority support. The API provides programmatic access to /v1/signals/recent, /v1/signals/top-movers, /v1/signals/{signal_id}, and /v1/signals/options-flow. Elite is designed for traders who want to integrate TradeAI News into their own tools, algorithmic workflows, or custom dashboards.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting support. When you cancel, you retain full access until the end of the billing period you already paid for. No prorated refunds are issued. After the billing period ends, your account reverts to the Free plan automatically. No cancellation fees, no locked-in contracts.

Do you offer a free trial?

We do not currently offer a time-limited free trial with full paid features. However, the Free plan is available indefinitely and gives you a genuine preview of the platform. For traders who want to evaluate signal quality, we recommend starting with Free to understand the interface, then upgrading to Basic for one month to test real-time signal delivery. At $29/month, it is a low-risk way to evaluate the platform's value.

How do Telegram alerts work?

Telegram alerts are delivered via @TradeAINewsBot. After connecting your account (go to Profile → Connect Telegram and send the /link command to the bot), you will receive alert messages whenever a qualifying signal fires. Each alert includes the ticker, TMS score, signal tier, catalyst type, and a brief description of the detected event. SEND NOW signals (TMS ≥ 82) arrive first. Telegram delivery is included in all paid plans and typically arrives within 60–90 seconds of detection.

What is options flow and how does TradeAI News use it?

Options flow refers to the real-time stream of options contracts being traded. Unusually large options purchases — particularly out-of-the-money calls or puts with short expirations — can indicate that sophisticated traders have directional conviction about an upcoming price move. TradeAI News monitors options flow across 1,000+ tickers, tracking IV spikes, block trades, put/call ratios, and open interest changes. This data is factored directly into the TMS scoring engine. The Options Flow Scanner in the dashboard lets you browse current unusual activity in real time.

What are dark pools and why do they matter?

Dark pools are private trading venues where large institutional orders are executed away from public exchanges. These trades are reported after execution but not visible in real-time order books. A large dark pool print can signal that a major institutional player is building or unwinding a position, which often precedes significant price movement. TradeAI News monitors dark pool activity through ATS data and incorporates it into the TMS scoring engine. The Dark Pool Tracker shows recent large prints with volume, price level, and timing information.

What is the REST API and who is it for?

The TradeAI News REST API provides programmatic access to signal data for Elite-plan subscribers. It is designed for traders who want to integrate signal data into algorithmic trading workflows, spreadsheets, or custom dashboards. Authenticated via API keys (X-API-Key header), it exposes endpoints for /v1/signals/recent, /v1/signals/top-movers, /v1/signals/{signal_id}, and /v1/signals/options-flow. Rate limit: 60 requests/minute per key. Full documentation at tradeainews.com/api-reference.

How do I get API access?

API access requires the Elite plan ($149/month). Once upgraded, go to My Account → API & Webhooks in the dashboard to generate your API keys. You can create up to 3 keys, name them, and revoke them at any time. Each key is shown only once upon creation — copy it immediately. Include the key in the X-API-Key header of each request. What is a market catalyst?

A market catalyst is an event or piece of information that triggers a significant change in the perceived value of a stock. Common catalysts include earnings surprises, FDA approvals, SEC filings (insider purchases, large position disclosures), analyst rating changes, merger announcements, and unusual options activity. TradeAI News automatically classifies each detected event into catalyst categories using NLP and pattern matching, helping traders quickly understand the nature and expected persistence of a potential price move.

Does TradeAI News cover premarket trading?

Yes. Our signal engine runs 24 hours a day and monitors events that occur before and after regular trading hours. Many of the most important market catalysts — earnings releases, FDA decisions, geopolitical events — happen outside the 9:30am–4:00pm ET window. Premarket and aftermarket signals are clearly labeled in the dashboard and Telegram alerts. The financial calendar also includes premarket earnings announcements and major scheduled events.

How is TradeAI News different from Benzinga Pro?

Benzinga Pro is primarily a news wire. TradeAI News is an AI signal engine that goes beyond news. Key differences: (1) TradeAI News scores every signal 0–100 with a multi-layer AI engine — Benzinga delivers news without scoring. (2) TradeAI News integrates options flow and dark pool data into every signal. (3) TradeAI News uses financial NLP to assess sentiment and novelty with high accuracy. (4) TradeAI News provides a REST API on Elite at a fraction of Benzinga's API cost. TradeAI News is a decision-support tool, not just a news feed.
